Investigation Report

When the team where invited by a team of cavers to perform a vigil in some underground tunnels, they were very intrigued and excited by such an unusual request, so willingly accepted. They were told that the tunnels had been built around the 1800's but as to the purpose, there is no real idea.

The team arrived at the location which was in the middle of a field, at around 7.30pm and Gill decided that she was going to wait above the tunnels as she did not feel very comfortable with the thought of climbing down ladders in the dark. With the weather very cold and wet, the rest of the team grabbed their hard hats and set off down into the tunnels.

They started the vigil by firstly sitting down in the tunnels and allowing all the surroundings settle down, this was a little uncomfortable as it was very damp. They then took several pictures with a 35mm camera as well as the digital cameras to see if there was anything giving any paranormal type activity in their surrounding area. They also started to use the voice recorder whilst asking out questions into the open space. They asked such things like whom had worked in the tunnels and what their names had been, but they did not seem to be getting any replies or sounds.

Danny then started using the camcorder but due to the investigation being carried out at night, they found that there was very little that could be seen, although they did believe the camera picked up a few orbs, but this could be insects. Whilst continuing with the investigation, Barry suddenly jumped back with a fright. He said that he had the sensation of that when a face had been right in front of his. They tried to video and photograph around this area, but could not pick up anything.

The team decided that they would try to encourage any spirits to come forward, so started asking out load, then this was followed by making lots a load noises like whistling and banging on the metal, but this did not seem to lead to anything interesting happening so the team decided to call a night to the investigation after 3 hours.

Conclusion

Although the team did not experience any real paranormal activity or get any real clues of anything unnatural in the tunnels, they thought that the location was something of a new experience and really enjoyed the change in location.

They are still going though the footage captured on the camcorder and scanning the photo's to see if they can find anything interesting.

***We would like to thank the cavers for inviting the team to perform a vigil in this great location.***
