Paranormal Activity Eyewitness Reports
Due to the Pub being taken over by a new Landlord and Landlady, it is currently being completely refurbished throughout. Whilst the Pool room was being decorated (previously the old barn), the decorators found that one area of the wall had what looked like the image of a face. This area was repainted, but the image seemed to reappear, but this time there were 2 faces.
Investigation Report
With all of the above activity going on, and due to their previous visit, SGPIT where asked if they would come back to the Pub and see if there was any paranormal explanation for the images. The team arrived at the Royal Oak around 10.30pm and were really excited to get started straight away.
As the team had already been to the location, there was no need to take a tour of the structure. They started by setting up a "Locked off" camera in the pool room, and also placed a motion camera in the area known as the "Temple" which is the oldest part of the Royal Oak.
The new owners Steve and Helen wanted to join us for the investigation, along with one of their friends Helen. With everyone together, the team first went into the pool room to have a better look of the faces on the wall. They believed that it was clear to see a man's face with a ladies face just above him, and to her right was the face of what looked like a child. The ladies face, looked as if there was a bonnet around her head that would place the image into the 1800's.
They took several photos and also a video of the area with the faces, and then sat around to perform a seance. Sandra, Gill, Sue, Pete and Mary all participated in the event, whilst the rest of the group watched. They started by calling out in the room for any spirits to come forward, but whilst doing this everyone noticed that the room seemed to get very cold as well as a noise coming from the kitchen area. Marlene and Steve believe that they also saw blue lights coming from the same area, but they were unable to investigate it any further as it was in the process of being cleaned.
After an hour or so of continuing with the seance, there seemed to be very little else in the way of activity, so most of the team decided to move on into the bar area. They all sat around and placed a glass in the middle with all their fingers placed upon it. The team then heard the noise of footsteps coming from above, even though there was no other person in the building.
Sue and Pete had gone to to the Temple room and had also confirmed that they had heard the footsteps at the same time which was very strange as when they investigated, there was no sign of anyone or anything!
Conclusion
The team really enjoyed their revisit to the Royal Oak and where really excited by the paranormal activity that they experienced. They now need to look through the pictures that where taken by the "Locked off" camera as well as their digital camera's as they have already found that there where orbs captured on some of them.
The Motion camera had managed to take 37 shots as well, which was very interesting, so again the team will investigate the images that triggered this off to see if they can find more reason for all the activity that was occurring that night.
Mary picked up the name George Morrison during the evening, so are interested to look through some of the pubs history to see if they can find any reference to the name - maybe he was once a regular to the building.
All in all the Royal Oak had some very interesting unexplained noises like the footsteps, as well as the lights and the faces on the wall. It was almost like they where of a family that did not want to be forgotten....
***We would like to thank Steve and Helen for allowing us to perform the investigation at the Royal Oak, and would like to wish them well in the reopening of the pub on the 28th November 2008***
