History of the Site

The structure that is the home of this lovely public house has been standing since the 17th Century. Located in a small village on the outskirts of Bristol. It is now only 1 of 2 public houses remaining, and is servicing a population of around nearly 7000 people. Much of the interior still reflects the types of buildings from the same era, with low ceilings, lots of wood and also a large open fireplace.

Paranormal Activity Eyewitness Reports

For a number of years now people have said that the Live & Let Live has had many strange things happening within its walls that could not be explained. There have been shadows seen on the walls of the kitchen area. People believe that they have seen what looked like a shoe print and also a bare foot print in the soot of the fire. A number of the staff have experienced the feeling of a presence following them around, as well the feeling of cold spots around the pub.

Investigation Report

As it was Halloween Night, the team wanted to investigate another building, hoping that the yearly tradition of the night would bring out the spirits and give them a great evening. They arrived at the pub at around 10.30pm and where met by the Landlady and whilst they were waiting for the Inn to empty of customers, had a tour around some of the areas like the kitchen and cellars.

The temperature that evening was very low and also the wind had started to pick up a little which was making the atmosphere for the evening all that more electrifying. The team decided that due to the pub already being quite cool, they would not perform any temperature checks.

Once the Inn was empty, the team went about setting up their equipment. There was a motion camera placed in the dinning area, this was connected to the laptop in the bar area so that the team could watch anything occurring from within the dinning room. A "Lock off" camera was setup in the kitchen facing the wall and doorway where the shadows had been seen. The team placed a few other items around the structure to see if they would catch any sounds.

To start the investigation, the team performed a seance in the dinning room. Gill, Mary, Trudy, Danny and Phil sat around in a circle, whilst Marlene filmed them. Mary started by asking out for any spirits that where in the room to come forward and let them know that they were in the room. Unbelievably almost straight away there were 2 bright lights and a noise like the sound of a large chair being dragged along the floor coming from one of the corners.

After a while of nothing more happening in the dinning room, Marlene and Danny decided to go down into the cellar and perform a small vigil. They both found it to be very cold and also quite noisy. There didn't seem to be much happening, but as Marlene turned around she felt the rush of warm air flow over her for a few seconds and then it was gone. They both took pictures around the area of the wind, but found nothing was captured and there didn't seem to be anything else occurring so they went to join the rest of the team.

With the two in the cellars, the rest were watching the camera's from the laptop and were finding that more activity was going on in the dinning room, with several large orbs and flashes of bright light in a few places. Mary then asked into the room if a man called George was with them and a bright orb formed and moved around the room. When she then asked out if his wife (called Ellen) and children were also in the room, the team found that there were more orbs coming forward. Trudy (who was on her first paranormal investigation) also believed that she had heard the noise of a deep sigh that sounded like it was to her side. No one else was around that area and this made Trudy a little uneasy.

As the team continued to watch the laptop from the bar area, Marlene and Danny went out into the external barn with video cameras to see if they could find anything unusual happening. The found that it was very dark, cold and windy but did not find anything out of the ordinary happening in the barn. With there not being much more happening, the team decided to end the investigation around 3.45am.

Conclusion

With this being a very local Public house for many of the team, they felt very privileged to be able to perform the investigation, and especially on Halloween.

Looking back through the footage of the video captured of the dinning room, the team found that there was a great deal of bright orbs floating as well as bright flashing lights. They also noticed that when they had asked questions, the orbs and lights did seem to react to them which they all found really interesting.

The "Lock off" camera that was placed in the kitchen did not seem to pick up anything, which was a little disappointing as the team where hoping to capture some of the shadows that had been seen.

It seemed that the majority of the activity came from the dinning room along with the sigh that Trudy heard. There had also been a whistling noise that was heard by other members of the team. Although not much activity was caught on tape, the team still enjoyed the investigation.
